Urban Ladder invites you to discover the joy of creating with a wood joinery workshop. Walk in, spend two engrossing hours stimulating your brain cells, and take back your handiwork with you.

An ancient Japanese and Keralite form of construction, wood joinery doesn't involve screws or glue of any kind. So, don't worry if you're not good with tools or your hands. You neither need the skills to saw, nor the strength to wield a hammer. In fact, the session is more like a puzzle and challenges you to imagine what the final product will look like, after identifying the first key piece.

Facilitators from Gathr and Workbench Projects will guide through this ancient art form, while also taking you through its rich history. Participants will be split into groups of 3, and will receive a wood puzzle kit. This session will help you visualize in three dimensions, learn about balance and structural integrity, and explore the tactile quality of wood. So come over and try your hand at something you've never done before.
