The quintessential bad boys, the Satan's Beatles, the Rolling Stones are probably the most important reason for the musical breakthroughs of the last half a century. They group distilled so much of the music that came before them and lit a path for the music that was made ever since. Their albums were not just central to understanding the music of the era, but the era itself. The Stones captured the violence, frustration and the chaos of the sixties, seventies and after, as the Global West confronted post-colonial and cold war morality of the time.
"Against the endless promises of Sixties idealism the Stones understood that ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’. You simply want to Let It Be? It’s more likely, given the harsh world we live in, that you might have to Let It Bleed."
On Sunday after, over a beer lunch, come and spend it on a journey through the music and the politics of the time with Akshay Sreevatsa at Pecos Banaswadi from 1:30 to 3 PM.
