We know this is last minute but we want to invite you to join us this Saturday evening for a free concert at our favourite bookstore, Goobe’s. Our friend Aditi is here from Bombay for a few days and, after hearing her play with Anand, we didn’t want to miss the opportunity to share their musical chemistry with you’ll, our fellow gatherers. They are going to experiment, improvise, pull books from shelves and sing the words, generally see what happens (hence the title...). In ordinary circumstances we realise that this could go horribly wrong but we’re convinced it won’t because of the quality of musicians these two are. Aditi is classically trained, both in the Carnatic and the western tradition, and has what has been described as a herculean voice, finding expression in symphonic harmonies, intricate melodies and tonal modulations. Anand's melancholic brand of stripped-down acoustic folk complements this perfectly.
